Here are some of Doug's best insights and tips from this webinar:

  • Apartments have the best 5, 10, and 15-year returns of any real estate asset class. (Read more in the NMHC report here).
  • In the last ten years, institutional investors have become much more comfortable with this asset class. The presence of institutional investors indicates long-term strength in apartments as an investment class.
  • Doug recommends that independent landlords seek opportunity outside of global gateway cities such as New York and Seattle—these markets are better suited for more capitalized investors.
  • Doug believes there is a lot of opportunity for independent investors in smaller apartment buildings where institutional investors have a harder time achieving economies of scale.

Join us for another free webinar on Thursday, July 23rd at 9am PT / 12pm ET for a discussion how to generate passive income and build long-term wealth through real estate investing with GreenVet Homes CEO and Army veteran Kirby Atwell.

These free webinars are part of the Azibo series "Helping Landlords Navigate the Impact of COVID-19." As the current health crisis takes its toll on the economy, independent landlords across the U.S. are wondering how they’ll make their next mortgage payment and navigate this uncertain time. We hope these free webinars provide the opportunity for landlords to have candid conversations with other members of the real estate community, learn best practices from experts, and apply strategies to stay afloat during these unprecedented challenges.
